Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) To Come With Faster Boot Time and Optimized Storage

Google announced and unveiled Android 9.0 Pie Last week and today they are introducing its Go Edition for low end device. The size of the Go Edition is as small as 500MB.

According to a Blog Post by Google, it was confirmed that the new OS is just 500MB in size and the boot is going to be faster and more secure, yet it will offer a dashboard for tracking and monitoring data consumption.

Google announced some updates that will be extra helpful to the users in the developing countries, like the audio reading of a webpage via Google Go while highlighting a word to make following along easier.

In Addition, The device with Android Oreo (Go Edition) and the upcoming devices that will be with the Pie variant have some lite pre-installed apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, Gmail Go that work in offline mode and are stripped of the less used features.

Maps Go also arrives with a new neat feature – the step-by-step navigation can now be used even in an environment with poor coverage or unstable connection.YouTube Go, for example, consumes less data, does not play videos in 1080p or 4K and can save videos for offline enjoyment.

The Phone app has caller ID, and spam detection and Assistant Go does the most basic things but works with languages like Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish.

Hope This Helps?
